As a working group, we knew from the start that while we had the passion for seeing our vision become a reality, we couldn’t accomplish it alone. So, we reached out to a community of fellow Black authors and other publishing industry allies in order to pool resources, insight, energy and efforts to make this launch possible. We’re grateful beyond words to those who didn't leave us on read when we slid into your DMs seeking advice and resources (and for those who did leave us on read, we’re still cool). We are forever indebted to those who offered services to us either pro bono or at a heavily discounted rate, all in the spirit of celebrating Black writers and their work.

  • Hallie-Claire, for creating the beautiful artwork that adorns our landing page
  • Jeanne De Vita, for extending resources to us and spearheading outreach to industry professionals
  • Kyra Nelson, for being the first to slide into our DMs, offering us support, resources and much needed “good vibes”
  • Sami Ellis, for general wisdom, sage advice and creating our “industry professional” engagement survey
  • Michael Lee, for donating your time and expertise to designing our website
  • Sarah T Dubb for donating proceeds from your editing services to support our effort
  • The “RevPit Beautiful Weirdos” group chat - you know who you are and you know why!
  • Nat Lockett of Rogue Mentor, for offering resources, insight and much needed encouragement
  • Audrey Ruoff for your intrepid proofreading skills and enthusiastic support

We also want to thank anyone who has followed us at @_Pitch_Blaque on Twitter, responded to one of our chaotic prompts or polls, retweeted us or commented with their excitement and support. We’re overwhelmed by the response thus far and excited to see our audience grow.

And last but not least, thank you to the Black writers for whom #PitBLK has been long overdue. Thank you for letting us answer your call!
